Homemade Deodorant #2

I found this recipe for homemade deodorant and made it yesterday. It was super easy and I am actually wearing it today! I'm not sure if it's going to work when I'm working out or really active, but hey, its natural and doesn't contain harsh chemicals! I took pics of how I made it of course:

Here's what the recipe called for:

You mix all of the ingredients(except essential oils, I used Lavender) , throw it in the micro to melt and mix till nice and smooth.

Pour into a jar and stick in the fridge till the oils firm back up.

You use your fingers to scoop some out of the jar and apply under your arms. Thats it!

If you have any good recipes for natural body care, leave me a comment!

  1. Great tip
I have a page about frugal tips like these and this one would fit right in.

  2. That's the brand of coconut oil we use! But we eat it! LOL! I also mixed some with liquid lecithin and use it as a moisturizer for skin and hair (it only takes a small amount, and lecithin is a humectant - it attracts and holds moisture.) I usually don't use deodorant, though, I use baby powder.

  3. Haha....we eat ours too ;) They carry it at the new Walmart...I was soo excited to see it there! I'm gonna have to find some more recipes for hair since I recently went no-poo. I need to deep condition once in a while so maybe I will try to lecithin mixed with a small amount of coconut oil. I also use baby powder.cornstarch for deodorant! Its very simple to use and cheap!

  4. Okay, seriously, I'm loving your concoctions. One of my long term goals (that I'm currently working on) is to switch all of our household products to all-natural. I am SO glad I found your blog!!!
