All Purpose Disinfecting Spray Cleaner

I make my own all purpose cleaner and have tried a few recipes online but this is one is a keeper :)

All purpose Spray Cleaner:
  • 1 cup of HOT water
  • 2 tsps of Borax
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 10 drops of lemon Essential Oil
  • 10-15 drops orange Essential Oil

First you add the hot water to a spray bottle and then add the Borax to it. Shake it up to dissolve the borax, Add the vinegar and Essential oils. You will need to shake it up with each use as the oils separate from the water. Add more water to fill the bottle.

I use this on my kitchen counters daily....You get used to the vinegar smell eventually but the more oils you add the better :) They each have their own cleaning properties also :) Lemon is a disinfectant and orange a degreaser.
Enjoy!

  1. Neato! I need to get some essential oils. I'm going to look at Lassens next time I go.

  2. Good info! I only use a vinegar/water mixture for my all purpose cleaner. I don't mind the vinegar smell, but am willing to try the oils because my children are always saying eww! LOL Nice to know the oils also help in the cleaning process.

    Blessings,
